Today, I opened up my email and was greeted by this message (from this card):
"Hello J and R! Thank you for the nice card. I have been to USA twice: Wisconsin and Florida -New York and it was great. I used to be kindergartenteacher, now I am retired. Paljon terveisiä (=many greetings), T"
It's always nice to hear from people when they receive their postcards. I get even more excited when I hear that the person is a teacher, especially a kindergarten teacher! It's like making a connection across the world with someone who is just like us.
Being a teacher is a unique calling in life. We don't do it for any other reason than the children. Yes, we like to be payed for what we do; however, I'm willing to bet that ANY teacher, when it comes down to it, would do it for free if we had to. It is a profession that lives IN us. No matter how hard we try, we can't NOT be teachers.
Thanks for the heartwarming message!
